Practicum Psychotherapist | BMT, MTA, CT

Leah Callao Teen Therapist Calgary

Leah supports those who feel overwhelmed by the intensity of their inner world — whether that’s anxiety, navigating difficult emotions, self-doubt, or the weight of expectations from others. She also works with clients who are navigating relationship tension, identity questions, or difficulty expressing how they feel — especially when words don’t always come easily.

You Might Be:
✔ Struggling with anxiety, low mood, or emotional ups and downs
✔ Finding it hard to open up or put your feelings into words
✔ Feeling stuck in relationship patterns or family dynamics
✔ Wanting to build confidence, self-understanding, or personal boundaries
✔ Curious about therapy, but unsure where to begin

Whatever brings you in, Leah offers a warm, grounded, and non-judgmental space to slow down, explore what you’re carrying, and begin reconnecting with your own voice.

What It’s Like to Work With Leah

Leah creates a steady, patient, and emotionally attuned environment where you don’t need to have it all figured out. Whether you’re a teen sorting through the challenges of growing up, or an adult trying to reconnect with yourself, Leah meets you with curiosity and calm. Her sessions are collaborative and flexible — structured enough to support progress, but open enough to make space for what’s most present each day.

She understands how stigma, fear, or pressure (internal or external) can keep people from reaching out — and gently helps clients move through those barriers toward self-understanding and relief.

More Than Just Her Work

Leah’s background as a Certified Music Therapist enriches her work as a clinical counselling therapist, bringing creativity, flexibility, and a deeply human approach to each session. With over five years of experience supporting individuals and groups through music, Leah embraces the power of creative expression to foster healing, connection, and emotional insight. She draws from a humanistic, person-centred foundation and believes that safe, attuned relationships are at the heart of meaningful therapeutic work.

Outside the therapy room, Leah recharges in nature — exploring Alberta’s mountain trails with her German Shepherd or unwinding through movement, whether that’s at the gym or on a yoga mat.

She also holds this reminder close:
