01 · Does this sound familiar?

When something doesn’t feel right, and you’re ready to talk about it.

  • You feel anxious, on edge or stuck in your head
  • You’re running on empty at work, at home or both
  • Your mood has felt low, flat or heavy for a while
  • Something from the past keeps showing up in the present
  • You’re facing a big change, a loss or a hard decision
  • The same patterns keep repeating in your relationships
  • You’re hard on yourself, and it’s getting exhausting
  • Nothing is “wrong,” but you want to understand yourself better

You don’t need to be in crisis to start therapy. Many people come in simply because they want things to feel lighter, clearer or more like their own.

02 · What we help with

Common reasons adults come to therapy.

Every person’s story is different, and many people come in with more than one concern. Some of the most common:

See everything we support on our concerns page. If the main concern is your relationship, couples therapy may be a better starting point. Men may also find our page on men’s mental health helpful.

FREE RESOURCES

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If something has been weighing on you, getting in the way of daily life or showing up again and again, therapy may help. You don’t need a diagnosis or a crisis to start. A free 15-minute consultation is a low-pressure way to ask questions and see how it feels.

How do I choose the right therapist?

Feeling comfortable with your therapist matters. You can read our clinicians’ bios, or request a match and our client care coordinator will suggest someone based on your concerns, preferences and availability. If the fit doesn’t feel right, you can switch.

What happens in the first session?

Your therapist will review consent and confidentiality, then get to know you: what’s bringing you in, what’s been hard and what you’d like to be different. You decide how much to share, and you’re welcome to ask questions too.

How long will I be in therapy?

It depends on your goals. Some people come for a handful of sessions to work on something specific, while others prefer longer-term support. You and your therapist will review progress together and decide what makes sense.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes, with a few legal limits, such as a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, concerns about a child’s safety or a court order. Your therapist will explain these at the start so there are no surprises.

Is online therapy an option?

Yes. We offer secure online sessions anywhere in Alberta, and some clinicians see clients online more widely. Many people find online sessions easier to fit into a busy week.

Will my benefits cover sessions?

Many extended health plans in Alberta cover therapy with a Registered Psychologist, and a growing number also cover Canadian Certified Counsellors. Check who is covered and your annual limits, and see our fees page.
